Održana 27. Vinistra u Poreču
The first wine event in the Republic of Croatia, the 27th Vinistra, was held in Poreč Bay Peškera, in a beautifully landscaped area, for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, in compliance with epidemiological measures, after months of restrictions. Sixty exhibitors with their personality and top wines have traditionally made Vinistra special. For three days from 18 to 20 June 2021 it was a unique opportunity to taste different styles of wine from Istrian winemakers. Sparkling wines of Istria were presented, from sparkling wines of Malvasia istriana to special red sparkling wines of Hrvatica, Borgonja and Teran. A special trip is the World of Malvasia, ranging from fluttering, fresh, floral and fruity young Malvasia to aged, complex and layered wines that will be a multitude of sensations. The splendor of Malvasia istriana wine is best illustrated by the fact that out of a total of 55 evaluated Malvasias, as many as 45 won the gold medal of the World of Malvasia. The most important and most represented red wine variety Teran took care of red wine lovers. They were dominated by aged, full, fruity, well-groomed Terani, almost half of whom earned a gold medal in the previous evaluation. Istria is also known for its muscats. There were numerous wines of different Muscat varieties. The wine of the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), Muscat Momjan, from the surroundings of the picturesque town of Momjan, of the Muscat White variety, always stands out. Equally sumptuous are the wines of the Muscat Rose and Muscat Yellow varieties. Finally, we could say that the 27th Vinistra is the most beautiful farewell from spring and an introduction to the beautiful summer bathed in wine, sea and the entire gastronomic offer of our beautiful wine subregion of Istria.
